Accu-Tech is locally owned, one stop automotive repair facility in Las Cruces, NM. Whether your vehicle needs a minor tune-up to a major overhaul, our trained service technicians are skilled at quickly diagnosing and pinpointing solutions to problems, saving you valuable time and money. Our number one goal is complete customer satisfaction. Every day, with every customer, we focus on providing high-quality Auto Repair services coupled with top-notch customer service. Our Mechanics are certified in many areas. Each technician stays on top of the latest technology in the automotive industry through ongoing schools and training. The shop takes pride in being up to date, clean and as efficient as possible to get your car, truck or SUV in and out as quickly as possible. Accu-Tech was born 7/5/2011 at 746 West Palms in Las Cruces, New Mexico. Jon was the only employee for the first 2yrs. Travis came on board shortly after and has been with Accu-tech for 9 yrs now. Anthony came on board 2 years later and has now been with Accu-tech for 7yrs. We welcomed aboard Joe and Brenden as they started with us at the beginning of this year. Then we also have Jake as our service writer! Jake came from a Body Shop, has been with us 2 years and has amazing customer service skills! Accu-Tech helps the youth in our community by sponsoring the 4H club, High Schools sports teams, and private school programs.
Owner Jon Rice:
Jon is an ASE Master Tech in Automotive. Went to school For General Motors and branched off into the heavy equipment and Fire truck apparatus. He is Waterous fire pump certified and has ASE heavy duty certificates along with several International Diamond and Cummins Certificates. Jon has been in the Automotive field for 23 yrs and keeps up with new training. Jon is involved with the Las Cruces 4×4 club and has helped out on the Chile Challenge Family 4 wheeling event for the last 20 years. He loves four wheeling and building rock crawlers/vehicles.
Mechanics and Technicians:
Travis Singleton – Shop Foreman
Travis is an ASE Master Tech in Automotive and Medium/Heavy Duty Trucks and also holds the ASE Advance Level Specialist in Electronic Diesel Engines as well the Maintenance and Light Repair certification, totaling 18 certifications. Travis also holds a Fire Apparatus Electrical Systems certification. Travis graduated from Dona Ana Community College in 2010 with an Associate Degree in Automotive Technology. After graduating, Travis began teaching Automotive Technology part time at Dona Ana Community College and continued teaching for 10 years. Travis now serves as a member of the Advisory Board at Dona Ana Community College for the Automotive Program. Travis has been an automotive technician for 19 years and has worked for dealerships including Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Honda, Hyundai, and International Truck. While working for the International Truck dealership, Travis achieved the highest level of International Truck certifications (International Diamond Certified), as well as multiple Cummins certifications in ISB6.7 and ISX engines. He has extensive training and experience in makes such as Volkswagen, Mitsubishi, Suzuki, Honda, Hyundai, International Truck, and Cummins.
Joe Castaneda – Automotive Technician/Fabricator
Joe is a previously ASE certified automotive technician and a certified welder/fabricator. Joe is a graduate of Dona Ana Community College (DACC) with Associates Degrees in Welding Technology (2001) and Automotive Technology (2013). He holds 9 welding qualifications/certifications in the SMAW (stick), GMAW (MIG) and GTAW (TIG) welding processes. Recently Joe joined the advisory committee at DACC to help the automotive program grow and meet/teach industry standards to help graduating students hit the ground running when the enter the workforce. He was employed with the New Mexico Department of Corrections at the Southern New Mexico Correctional Facility teaching Automotive and Welding Technology to inmates to help them prepare for their return to the community after release. Joe has dedicated some of frees time for the past 5 years coaching youth soccer in the community. Joe has always had a fascination/appreciation for vehicles ranging from racing to off-roading and enjoys working on and customizing vehicles.
Anthony Terrazas – Automotive Technician
Anthony is an ASE Certified Master Tech and was previously certified in handicap/ mobility equipment install and repair. Anthony graduated from Dona Ana Community College with an Associate Degree in Automotive Technology in 2010. Anthony has been working in the automotive industry for over 15 years and has specialized in handicap equipment, Import Vehicles (Including Rotary Engines) and Domestic Vehicles, including gas and diesel. Anthony also holds an FFL and has multiple small businesses.
Brenden Hedges – Automotive Technician
Brenden is an automotive technician who has worked for Accu-Tech for almost 2 years (8 months current and 13 months previous). He is a graduate of the Automotive Program at Dona Ana Community College. Brenden previously worked for Firestone in Las Cruces, New Mexico as an automotive technician. Brenden is an avid hunter and has donated his time in helping youth non-profit hunting programs with his family.
Jacob Garcia – Service Advisor
Jacob has worked as a service advisor with Accu-Tech for over 2 yrs. Jacob assists customers with quotes for needed repairs, orders needed parts, works with insurance and extended warranty companies to obtain approval for needed repairs. Jacob has been working in the automotive industry for over 20 yrs, with the past decade being the assistant manager of a local body shop.
